F R I D A Y

“There’s no real politics in my act,” says comedian Jeff Wayne, though the subtitle of his one-man show, Big Daddy’s Barbecue, is “It’s OK to Be a White Male”—provocative stuff in this politically sensitive town. Hewing to neither (D) nor (R) affiliations, Wayne claims to be merely adding balance to a public discourse that is out of whack. So Wayne adds some wack through his working-stiff character, who combines Milton the philosophical poet with Milton the Berle, for a comic tour of what’s pissing off those pale penis-people. At 8:30 & 10:30 p.m. at the Improvisation, 1140 Connecticut Ave. NW. $12. (202) 296-7008. (Dave Nuttycombe)
