Raised on the rough streets of Reston, the members of Avail, heroes of punk, began a journey that led to the teen-dream lifestyle they live today. After relocating to Richmond, the boys suffered through an emotional breakup that stopped the hearts of kids across the country. In a triumphant reunion, they banded together to wave the flag of musical mediocrity. Now, seven years and countless bad tattoos later, they boast a new album on Lookout! and spend post-show hours dodging slimy A&R guys looking for the next Green Day. With Frodus and Naked Aggression at 9 p.m. at the Black Cat, 1831 14th St. NW. $6. (202) 667-7960. (Elisa Nader)
