After drummer Trey Many (who also provided rhythm for Dan Littleton and Jenny Toomey in their Liquorice side-project) left the band, His Name Is Alive regrouped for a new record. Stars on E.S.P. combines ska, country, and ’60s pop into a cohesive brand of indie-pop. It’s a record that borrows from bands like Stereolab and, of course, Tsunami, but concocts a mixture that has not been heard before.
