Glenn Dixon’s sarcastic review of the Sex Pistols’ concert (Music, 8/16) completely missed the point. Rotten’s goal was not to resurrect the “scrawny, wiry” 20-year-old. Rotten, I’m sure, more than anyone, considered the danger of attempting that feat. However anxious or overkill Rotten’s approach may have been, he performed with a light heart, all his greed on the table, and was self-mocking to boot. I give Dixon a bad vote for sportsmanship. The show may have been tame—sort of like the Sex Pistols do Disney—but I had a good time. If being well preserved like Queen Elizabeth is something to strive for, I’d rather be fat, 40, and Rotten.
