How can you characterize as “petty” Marcia Rosenthall’s gripes about street vendors (“Vending Justice,” 9/13)? Didn’t you read your own story? The coolers are different colors. Water is melting on the sidewalk. And most offensive of all, you can ask them for anything…and they’ve got it!
The vendors’ obnoxious insistence on providing Washingtonians with a convenient and economical place to pick up the sundries and gadgets of modem urban life goes against everything this city and its heroic leaders stand for. Shame on you, Ted Walker!
