There’s still time to nominate local icons for Best of D.C.
Though I do tend to
come down on the side that says Diane Rehm is most interested in hearing her own voice and those who share her conventional wisdom, there’s no reason to keep that debate alive (“Too Much of the Goodness Thing,” 8/2). My question is: Why is the Rehm show aired live, then rebroadcast not once but twice in the same 24-hour period by WAMU-FM? As anyone who’s lived in another NPR market knows, there are many fine programs that are never heard in the Washington area. For starters, how about a few hours of the sublime Chicago-based show, Blues Before Sunrise?
