As even readers of Style Plus know, Fugazi is in some way connected to the “straight edge” movement. Today, however, the socially conscious, musically dynamic local post-harDCore quartet takes a stand not against drugs but against the “drug war.” Taking the theme “Build Community, Not Prisons,” the band will share the stage with spokespersons from Equal Justice USA, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Drug Policy Foundation, and the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, who will argue that the Draconian treatment of drug users and small-time dealers is at best counterproductive and at worst racist. The concert/symposium Rally to End the Drug War, sponsored by Positive Force, begins at 2 p.m. at Malcolm X/Meridian Hill Park, 16th & Florida Ave. NW. FREE. (703) 276-9768. (Mark Jenkins)
