Klezmer bands have sprouted up in almost every major city, and New Orleans is no exception. Some simply re-create the traditional styles learned from old recordings, but the New Orleans Klezmer All Stars opt for a more contemporary approach. Most of their material is original, and its fast tempos (along with the loud electric-guitar solos and wailin’ accordion and clarinet riffs) create a sort of “klez-rock.” Not a group for purists, but if you’d like to party in a nouveau Yiddishe style, don’t miss tonight’s bash. At 8:30 p.m. at Twist & Shout, 4800 Auburn Ave., Bethesda. $7. (301) 652-3383.
