In A Cran (pictured), the first feature by 29-year-old French director Solange Martin, a woman arrives at the airport to surprise her husband, who never turns up. Concluding that he’s with another woman, she picks up a man, more or less at random, and the two strangers take a brief voyage of self-discovery together. The Lens to Lens-sponsored screening, at 1 p.m., will be followed by a question-and-answer period with Martin; at 3:30 p.m., the director will join documentarian Geraldine Wurzberg, Baltimore-based film distributor Rob Tregenza, and moderator Pat Aufderheide for a discussion of independent filmmaking. At 1 p.m. at the National Museum of Women in the Arts Auditorium, 1250 New York Ave. NW. $25. For reservations call (202) 783-7370. (Mark Jenkins)
