It might seem odd that Faith No More’s keyboardist + a few Bay Area punk survivors = the Pixies, but apart from Charles Thompson’s annoying vocalizations, Imperial Teen has expropriated all the main elements of that group’s sound, including the lead Pixie’s obsessions with teenhood and Jesus. Thematically, though, Imperial Teen is more part of the punk-grows-up movement spearheaded by Everclear; the songs on Teen’s debut album, Seasick, reveal numerous drug- and sex-induced scars, the results of imprudently lived youth. With Chisel and the Lemonheads at 7:30 p.m. at the 9:30 Club, 815 V St. NW. $12. (202) 393-0930. (JL)
