In Australia, North is South, so it makes some sense that the new album from Robert Forster (a native of Brisbane, in north Australia) has a Southern feel—even if it is supplied by a crew headed by producer Edwyn Collins (a northern-hemisphere Northerner, from Glasgow). Warm Nights is not the former Go-Between’s most literary effort, but it compensates with amiable grooves and a playful swagger that bodes well for this show.
