Luscious Jackson’s third outing, Fever In Fever Out, just might be the hit these girls deserve. The Daniel Lanois-produced disc is slicker than Natural Ingredients and In Search of Manny, but possesses a deliberate simplicity most likely due to Jill Cunniff and Vivian Tremble’s time in their acoustic band, Kostars. And since the record is the latest from Grand Royal, it receives the support of the Beastie Boys’ extended family: Mike Diamond is listed as a label contact, and a photo credit is given to Adam Horovitz’s brother Matthew. LJ splits the bill with new British sensation Kula Shaker, the Josephine Wiggs Experience, the latest in Breeders side projects, and medieval punk cellists Rasputina, who open at 7:30 p.m. at the 9:30 Club, 815 V St. NW. $9.91.
