Your article on Robert Aubry Davis by Eddie Dean (“Around Town With Mr. Know-It-All,” 11/15) tells us next to nothing about Davis, but more than we should care to know about Dean. In the article, Dean uses Davis as a mere foil for page after page of solipsistic navel-gazing, ultimately revealing himself as a smug philistine whose aesthetic tastes stopped evolving in junior high school. If you must run articles of this sort, at least find an author whose views merit our attention.
