City Paper is not for tourists
Alan Green nailed it! “Care Bare” (11/15) is truly an exemplary piece. You have characterized our “whatever” culture all too well.
Rest assured that anyone—such as this writer—who still cared before reading your piece now has another good reason for continuing to care. Thanks!
By the way, I favor “The You Know, Whatever, Nineties” as the perfect slogan for this decade of aggressive apathy, but only sneaker companies seem to care about slogans anymore. I still think it captures the mood as well as “The Swingin’ Sixties,” “The Disco Seventies,” or “The Go-Go Eighties.”
