Tavo Conti used to be one of Washington’s punkabilly Vile Geezers, but Plan B was to move to New York and drum for an artier, easier-going band. To judge from a recent demo, Conti’s new combo owes more to Tom Verlaine (and Buddy Holly) than to Johnny Rotten (and Gene Vincent). The quintet opens for Jamie Holiday’s Cathouse at 10 p.m. at Club Asylum, 1210 U St. NW. $5. (202) 232-9354. (MJ)
