It seemed a given that we would always have NRBQ. And we do, though some might argue that without the big man, Al Anderson, it’s like watching Cats with an understudy Grizabella. OK, that’s a bad example; nobody cares about Grizabella. It’s like the Yankees without, oh, one of their star players (I don’t really follow the game). Let’s belabor this a bit more: The New Rhythm and Blues Quartet has bench strength and a million miles of road dust behind their eccentric boogie.
