T U E S D A Y

The few times I’ve heard the knockout sounds of the Rye Coalition have been in sweaty basements so crowded that it was a struggle to stand upright, much less survey the ongoings. Hailing from New Jersey, the punker-than-thou boys spit in the face of “the scene” and proudly unfurl the banner of unabashed musical aggression, wreaking havoc on everyone in earshot. Maybe this time I’ll actually be able to see as well as hear. With Van Pelt at 8:30 p.m. at the Black Cat, 1831 14th St. NW. $3. (202) 667-7960. (Amy Domingues)
