What a waste: He seems like such a nice chap in person. But what a vitriolic spoof on the Washington art scene by Glenn Dixon (1/10), who in his weird humor threatens us with a monthly exposure of the same bile in a column appropriately titled “Beneath Contempt.” He should call it “Self Portrait” and just forget the art. But if he really means it to be a regular guide to Washington art the column is worthless, because his unrelenting arrogance and contempt for art are as conventionally boring and predictable as the gush reviews he ridicules. The poor man is so hip he’s dead.
