Though tourists are now beginning to trickle back into Cambodia, the elaborate traditions (and just about everything else) of that beleaguered country came very close to extinction. That’s why tonight’s performance of Cambodian Court Music and Solo Dance is being presented by a U.S. troupe, the Cambodian American Heritage Ensemble. Featured is MacArthur “genius” grant-winning ethnomusicologist Sam-Ang Sam. At 7:30 at the Freer Gallery’s Meyer Auditorium, 12th & Jefferson Dr. SW. FREE. (202) 357-4880. (MJ)
