Tony Cohen may have performed the longest living-history demonstration since the never-faraway-enough Renaissance Festival. Last year, he reported on National Public Radio as he traveled on foot along the Underground Railroad route from Maryland to Amherstburg, Ontario. Now that the journey is complete, Cohen’s lecture, “From Maryland to Canada: 1,500 Miles on the Underground Railroad,” features the stories he collected along the secret system lit by back-porch lanterns. Take a break from the debate on Ebonics to hear what remains of the silent road to freedom. At noon at the National Archives, Room 105, 7th & Pennsylvania Ave. NW. FREE. (202) 501-5000. (GE)
