Two of Scotland’s finest traditional musicians, Aly Bain (fiddle) and Phil Cunningham (accordion, piano, keyboards, cittern, whistle), have teamed up for their first U.S. tour as a duo. While Bain has visited our shores regularly since the early 1970s as member of the Boys of the Lough, Cunningham has been to North America only a few times since Silly Wizard’s 1988 “farewell” tour. Bain and Cunningham started working together a few years ago, and in 1995 Green Linnet released an album of their instrumental duets, The Pearl. There’s everything from stompin’ jigs ‘n’ reels to refined slow airs and even a Cajun waltz on the album, and tonight’s concert will undoubtedly feature a similar mix. At 8 p.m. at the Barns of Wolf Trap, 1624 Trap Rd., Vienna. $14. (703) 938-2404. (Ken Roseman)
