Despite being such a bastard, Steve Albini birthed a whole family of disciples. In addition to recording Flemish Altruism with the Shellacker and his engineer, Bob Weston, the members of A Minor Forest adopt the slanted dynamics and enchanted metallics of Albini acolytes Slint for that heavy, heavy monster sound. Too bad they think naming songs “Bill’s Mom Likes to Fuck,” and “Jacking Off George Lucas” is even remotely funny (though “So Jesus Was at the Last Supper…” is pretty good). With Chisel and Shout Bus at 9:30 p.m. at the Black Cat, 1831 14th St. NW. $5. (202) 667-7960. (Christopher Porter)
