I guess I’ve come to expect weekly surprises in your paper, but I never expected a redesign of the Washington City Paper layout. In a word: It’s dreadful! (Two words, actually.) I guess it gets you an extra column of advertisements, but even those are indistinct and hard to read. The margins are too small and the cross-page articles just don’t work. Photography, which has been splendid and smile-provoking (at least), is no longer well presented. It didn’t work.
A one week blip in your otherwise fine design is fine. Time to regroup while you try (if you must) again.
