As a Starbucks shareholder, I want to thank Amanda Ripley for reaffirming my confidence in the company (“Camp Starbucks,” 3/28). Although Ripley’s apparent aim was to demonstrate her moral superiority to everyone in the Starbucks orbit, the mean-spirited account of her employment experience had the unintended effect of providing convincing evidence of the company’s extraordinary respect for customers and employees alike.
By the way, Starbucks now has more than 1,000 stores, not 300 as Ripley reported.
