There’s still time to nominate local icons for Best of D.C.
Musically, Candy Machine is aligned with former labelmates Trenchmouth and other purveyors of jazzy, jagged post-punk. But the Baltimore quartet now records for DeSoto, the label run by some Jawboxers. The first album from this alliance, Tune International, is cooler and cleaner than its predecessors, but no less insistent.
