Once again, Wolf Trap will be invaded by Irish and Celtic musicians, dancers, and their admirers. The “21st Annual Washington Irish Folk Festival” features a cast of performers from Ireland, Scotland, and North America, and the performances are split into two parts. Among the artists appearing in the afternoon program of workshops and concerts are Solás, the New York-based Irish-American band starring ace flutist Séamus Egan and dynamic fiddler Winifred Horan, local legends Celtic Thunder, and the brilliant fiddle and guitar duo Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill. Headlining the evening concert is Scotland’s Capercaillie, who’s latest album, To the Moon, is a fantastic blend of Scottish roots with modern pop and Afrobeats. Rounding out the evening bill are the accordion and guitar duo Séamus Begley and Stephen Cooney, County Galway vocalist Séan Keane, the Tulla Ceili Band from County Clare, and a troupe of Irish step dancers. The afternoon program runs from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. $18; the evening concert begins at 8 p.m. at Wolf Trap Filene Center, 1624 Trap Rd., Vienna. $7-14. (703) 255-6500. (Ken Roseman)
