On such growling songs as “Take It or Leave It,” the Cunninghams reveal their kinship to their town’s most famous post-punk ensemble, Nirvana. This quintet seems largely untouched by the specter of Black Sabbath, however. While many of the tracks on the Cunninghams’ Zeroed Out are too hard-edged to be called pop, they’re all too sprightly to be called grunge. With Retsin and Ida at 8:30 p.m. at the Black Cat, 1831 14th St. NW. $6. (202) 667-7960. (MJ)
