Accolades to Rickey Wright (“Slight the Power,” 7/4) for really nailing the development of the power-pop genre, with cogent remarks on its current form. It’s difficult to even imagine reading a review article on power pop without an artist’s melodic quotient being compared to the hooks in a fisherman’s cap. But Wright didn’t buckle, and produced an intriguing analysis to boot.
