Quoting Beth Solomon on the virtues of Leroy Thorpe (“Backyard Barbecue,” 7/11) is like asking Fawn Hall for a character reference on Ollie North. While Solomon and Thorpe may fancy themselves to be Shaw’s dynamic duo, the truth is, their ugly and vindictive campaign against Jack Evans and the Washington Convention Center has made them Shaw’s least popular couple.
If they continue the name-calling, the misinformation, the racist and homophobic slurs, and the defamation of respected Shaw leaders, they may need to move to Georgetown, in which case Westy Byrd would get exactly what she deserves.
