TUESDAY
Larry Appelbaum has a peach of a job: When the WPFW DJ isn’t spinning discs on his Sunday afternoon show, Appelbaum’s a senior studio engineer at the Library of Congress, where he has access to all sorts of obscure audio and visual jazz gems. After Appelbaum gets home, he curates his own extensive jazz collection, from which tonight’s “Jazz on Film” screening emanates. Appelbaum presents two episodes of the short-lived 1962 show Jazz Scene USA, hosted by Oscar Peterson, featuring performances by the great saxophonists Cannonball Adderley and Teddy Edwards. At 7 p.m. at Borders, 18th & L Sts. NW. FREE. (202) 466-4999. (Christopher Porter)
