SATURDAY

I was around 15 when the Marley virus got me. My brother brought the infection home from college, and in no time I had mutated into a dreadlock-sporting, incense-burning, Rasta-boy wannabe. Bob Marley’s Legend was my introduction, but I soon graduated to Uprising and Confrontation. Now, I sport a bald head and hate the smell of incense, but on any day you can still catch me blasting “Trenchtown Rock” or “We and Dem” on my Walkman. So you know I’m gonna be in the house for the “17th Annual Bob Marley Commemorative Day Festival & Soccer Tournament.” Heavy-hitters Nasio Fontaine and Moja Nya will be there, too. And if you’re a Bobfiend so will you. From 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday & Sunday at RFK Stadium Auxiliary Fields, 22nd & East Capitol Sts. $4-25. (202) 662-7115. (Ta-Nehisi Coates)
