I can’t believe all these people came down so hard on you for running “New York Fetish” (8/1). Although I agree that making such a big case for New York based on the nightlife was a little silly (I hardly make enough in D.C. for an evening life, so looking forward to hip clubs where I could get trashed at all hours is hardly my concern), the article was from the heart and charming. And it is exactly the type of people who think that happiness is not to be found in New York who make up the stale cultural scene in this tired, provincial, segregated little town. It is quiet, though, and close to Ma and Pa.
You should follow it up with a N.Y.C. vs. Paris debate (or how about N.Y.C. vs. Karachi?).
