Sounds like a party, but the “POZ Life Expo” is actually the nation’s first consumer fair for people with HIV/AIDS. Sponsored by POZ magazine, with dozens of exhibitors from chefs to pharmaceutical companies and plenty of showbiz savvy behind it, the expo attracted more than 8,000 visitors at its May stop in Manhattan and is expected to pack in crowds in Washington as well. If the atmosphere is bright and breezy, the information being conveyed is serious, with workshops and seminars on new HIV treatments, nutrition, exercise, financial and legal strategies, and even dating disclosure.
