Just dropping a line to say that I can totally relate to the essence of Natalie Hopkinson’s article (“Lost Signal,” 10/3). I, too, took the loss of Jazz 90 personally, as it created a mood too many times for me that was one of tranquility and peace. The radio personalities fit the station like hand in glove, especially Gwen Redding. Jazz 90 heightened my awareness of the great jazz masters like no other station I’ve heard, aside from WBGO in New Jersey, as well as enlarged my CD collection. That article was well written and brought back similar memories for me. A lot of us will sadly miss Jazz 90.
