MONDAY
Every five minutes some money-grubbing lackey is trying to sell new Internet-authoring software. Clemont Mok, creator of NetObjects Fusion, is this week’s Boy Wonder and Stella Gassaway, author of the book Killer Web Site Design: NetObjects Fusion, his Dyna Girl. The software is priced at $300, no doubt to suck up to pseudo-prosperous graphic designers afraid of programming. Mok, who also owns the infamous Internet-based design company Studio Archetype, confesses in the book’s forward: “[NetObjects Fusion] is about understanding the trauma…the web site developer encounters in building a web site.” Having trauma in life? Pay a psychiatrist. Having trauma building your web site? Pay someone who can. Gassaway discusses her book at 1 p.m. at Reiter’s Books, 2021 K St. NW. FREE. (202) 223-5561. (Elisa Nader)
