Hell, everyone knows mother’s tired motto: If you want something done right, then do it yourself. The Cashmere Jungle Lords take cliché and make it exhilaratingly new again. This Richmond, Va., trio’s new album, Southern Barbershop Supply, leapfrogs through a passel of styles, from tuneful pop hooks to slinky lounge plushness, from shimmering Middle East-tinged instrumentals to noisy, kicky, old-boy stomp. But the Lords aren’t content to be mere imitators, and their special brand of oomph propels their essentially garage-rock sound into the musical penthouse. You’ll have to clench your toes to keep your feet from tapping, and you’ll have to glue your ass to your seat to keep from dancing. Make your mama proud and see them tonight with the Spontanes at 10:30 p.m. at Galaxy Hut, 2711 Wilson Blvd., Arlington. FREE. (301) 525-8646. (Sharada Chidambaram)
