D.C.’s own Last Train Home would play its soulful, rootsy pop no matter how hot y’all-ternative country has become. The group’s self-titled debut CD is filled with well-crafted songs brought to life by Eric Brace’s polished lead vocals and the precise harmonies of Alan Brace and Bill Williams. Occasional mandolin and harmonica riffs add a neat rustic flavor to Last Train Home’s basic four-part sound. Tonight, Last Train Home will be celebrating its CD release in the company of the Thangs (in their annual roots-rock reunion) and tomorrow with the Atomic Hillbillies at 9:30 p.m. at Iota, 2832 Wilson Blvd., Arlington. $5. (703) 522-8340.
