I was horrified when I saw myself misquoted from a private conversation that took place at my going-away party at a bar in Washington. Jake Tapper’s article “I Dated Monica Lewinsky” (1/30) contained gross falsehoods and exaggerations about my comments that evening. No attempt was made by Tapper to corroborate with me how our conversation transpired that December evening. I called Tapper after reading the story, and he apologized for including my “comments” without verifying them with me first. I would hope Washington City Paper will take this opportunity to uphold some basic standard of journalistic integrity. I do agree with the overall premise of Tapper’s article that this whole story has spun out of control. I’m amazed that my girlfriend and I could be so carelessly dished up in the media’s latest serving of Washington road kill.
