The four members of Da Vinci’s Notebook do not hold very much musically sacred—other than pitch, key, and melody. Thus, on their new CD, Bendy’s Law, the a cappella quartet has its wicked way with such musical holies as the Beatles (“Sgt. Pepper/With a Little Help From My Friends”), Otis Redding (“Dock of the Bay”), and Blondie (“Call Me”). And their soaring harmonies on the headbanging medley “Metal Shop” prove the irrelevancy of screaming guitars. But they’re not just a cover band, and they even managed to corral one of the a cappella Bobs to join them on the wry original, “Window-Washing Cowboy.” At 4 p.m. at Iota, 2832 Wilson Blvd., Arlington. $5. (703) 522-8340. (Dave Nuttycombe)
