Sylvia Waters directs the Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble, a group of 12 young dancers looking for fame. Fame costs (as Debbie Allen would say), and the Repertory Ensemble is where they start paying. During the two-year apprenticeship, the dancers endure a grueling schedule of classes, rehearsals, tours, and performances, designed to give them a taste of the dancer’s life. Some go on to the Ailey company proper; others make their homes elsewhere. Find out how Waters, a former Ailey dancer herself, whips these young aspirants into Revelations form at a meet-the-artist video talk. At 7 p.m. at Olsson’s, 418 7th St. NW. FREE. (202) 638-7613. (HB)
