D.C. Dance Theater’s work falls into the blush wine category of modern dance: It’s light, sweet, inoffensive, and perennially popular. There’s nothing terribly original about Juan Carlos Rincones’ style of balletic modern dance set to pop, new age, or classical’s greatest hits. But Rincones does have a strong corps of talented dancers—technically solid and physically beautiful, each in a distinctive way. This weekend’s performance, “In Movement—Voices in Black and White,” has the company members choreographing for the first time as well as performing. At 8 p.m. tonight and 7 p.m. tomorrow at Dance Place, 3225 8th St. NE. $12. (202) 269-1600. (Holly Bass)
