With its buoyant rough-hewn exuberance and get-down attitude, the latest addition to the Royal Trux legacy, Accelerator, heralds a rock ‘n’ roll summer with abandon. Cohorts Hagerty and Herrema have returned to the Drag City fold from the wilds of major labeldom, and if this record’s anything more than a solid rock album, it’s definitely the best “fuck you” they could spit out. Coating grooves with grime (shades of Neil’s Pussy Galore days), the Trux has some serious ’70s revival cooking in songs like the hip-grinder “Banana Question” and the cowbell-tinged “Juicy Juicy Juice.” With the Lynnfield Pioneers and locals the Cranium at 9:30 p.m. at the Black Cat, 1831 14th St. NW. $7.
