Forget supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, filmmaker Aishah Simmons wants you to feel her Afrolesfemcentricness. This year’s winner of the Audre Lorde Legacy Award for her documentary, NO!, about sexual violence against black women, Simmons will show an excerpt of her film at tonight’s awards ceremony. Fiction writer tatiana de la tierra, this year’s Audre Lorde Fellowship winner, will read from her work. But the real star of this awards show is Alice Walker’s coat. The reclusive coat, not seen since the filming of Warrior Marks, will be making a cameo appearance before being silently auctioned to the highest bidder. Author Leslie Feinberg and musician Evelyn Maria Harris also make tributes to Lorde at 7 p.m. at the D.C. Jewish Community Center, 16th & Q Sts. NW. $40-60. (202) 496-1630. (Holly Bass)
