I heard a story that’s probably not true: The original Statue of Liberty was supposed to be a black woman holding a broken shackle of slavery in her hand. Who better to represent free America to the world than a black woman? Nomads Theatre Workshop will be representin’ fourfold when they bring their latest production, Sista’s In Heat, to the American Association of Community Theater’s 1998 International Theater Festival in Benton Harbor, Mich. In Sista’s, four black women reveal their innermost dreams and desires through story, poetry, and song. Catch their fire in D.C. at 8 p.m. at HR-57, 2108 14th St. NW. (202) 387-0970. $10. (Holly Bass)
