I have not read Teenage Nervous Breakdown (CityBooks, 6/19), but I have no qualms about accepting Mark Jenkins’ assessment of David Walley’s writing as “smug, sloppy, and inclined to substitute cheap irony for actual insight”; anyone who works for the Washington City Paper must be intimately familiar with that style of writing.
