As a rock and soccer combo, tonight’s pairing of two-time Major League Soccer champs D.C. United and multi-Grammy Award-winners Los Lobos is not quite as all-American as the early-’80s match-and-concert doubleheader of Team America and the Beach Boys, but it should be a whole lot better. Current Eastern Conference leaders United will take on ’98 expansion squad the Miami Fusion, featuring several ex-United players as well as Bolivian superstar and all-hair team member Carlos Valderrama; and Los Angelenos Los Lobos, who’ve been resting on their considerable laurels since 1996’s Colossal Head, will bring their expert mix of rock and roll and “the soundtrack of the barrio” to the nation’s capital for a pre-Fourth of July celebration. At 7:30 at RFK Stadium, 22nd & East Capitol Sts. NE. $12-32. (703) 478-6600. (Dan Searing)
