There are very real reasons why it’s called “Blue Monday.” The body is still in weekend mode, and in something approaching shock at finding itself up early and sitting in a cubicle exited relatively few hours ago. Which is why any measure taken to lighten the day’s mood is solid medical practice. No doubt, four out of five doctors would recommend the Schtick Figures series, which presents a different comedian each Monday evening for four weeks. Providing the palliative puns and restorative raillery are Bob Somerby, Jeff Caldwell, Roger Mursick, and Brett Leake. As with any treatment, be sure to finish the entire prescription. At 6:30 p.m. at the Hirshhorn Museum & Sculpture Garden’s Ring Auditorium, 7th & Independence Ave. SW. $80 (for the series; tickets may be available to individual performances after the first one).
