We value your support now more than ever.

All year we’ve been covering the issues that matter most to you—the pandemic, the election, policing, housing, and more—and now our end of year membership campaign is here. Will you support our work to ensure we can bring you the same informative local reporting in 2021?

TUESDAY

When you’ve got someone like Mike Miller leading your lounge act you can expect more than just the Austin Powers-approved “The Look of Love”—you’ve got someone who’s willing to dig a little deeper into the hipster heap and pull out a gem like Scott Walker’s “Plastic Palace People.” Miller cut his teeth in late-’70s D.C. group The Chumps and went on to front the ’60s-inspired Rhomboids. Now trading in ’90s-style retro cool, Miller nimbly navigates his guitar-drums-and-vox trio the Hidden Persuaders between the pitfalls of camp and kitsch with a self-effacing sense of humor and some spiffy vintage threads. Saturn Returns joins the cocktail party at 8:30 p.m. at the Black Cat, 1831 14th St. NW. $5. (202) 667-7960. (DS)
