This local film-presentation group concludes its run with a “Last Resort” program of local independent film and video. Top-billed is Eric Cheevers’ The Jenny James Story (pictured) a 20-minute film about a pregnant woman who is unduly influenced by Donna Mills’ makeup-tip videotapes. This “blend of social commentary and threadbare fantasy” was filmed in the D.C. area (“financed in part by sex-industry proceeds”) and features two performers who have appeared on Homicide. Also included are Aibhist (Ruin), which was shot in Ireland by local filmmaker Mary Billyou; Adam Joyce’s award-winning short, Tracking Signal Impulse Movie; and videos recently made in New York by Brian DeGraw, an artist and musician who plays in local band the Cranium. Other works may be added to the program at the last minute. At 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 27, at the Black Cat, 1831 14th St. NW. $5. (202) 667-7960. (Mark Jenkins)
