Much praise is due to Michael Schaffer for his “Million Dollars” article (“Would You Give a Million Dollars to These Guys?” 8/14). More people need to be reminded of why we can’t just vote or debate over abstract political principles and expect everything to go right in government. It’s all about them “dead presidents”; the live ones are so very unimportant.
